Where can I eat, and do I need reservations?
Yal-Ku is the main buffet and takes walk-ins. El Cenote is a casual poolside snack bar. Alux (gourmet à la carte) and Maiko (Asian cuisine and sushi) are adults-only, need a reservation and keep a semi-formal dress code. Both serve dinner from 5:30 PM to 9:30 PM. If you'd rather stay in, room service is included.
Is this a quiet place for a relaxing stay?
Yes. The resort is adults-only and built around a quieter pace in the Mayan jungle, away from the busy shoreline. Evening entertainment and the lobby bars add atmosphere, and the blackout drapes and air conditioning help you rest. Note that the property has no elevators, so rooms are reached by stairs.
What can I do nearby during a longer stay?
The Riviera Maya Golf Club is about a 10-minute walk away, with discounted green fees for guests. Within a short drive are Akumal Beach, Half Moon Bay, Yal-kú Lagoon and Xel-Há. Day trips run to the Tulum ruins, about 20 to 30 minutes away, and to Coba and the Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve, each about 45 minutes or more. Bahia Spa on site offers Mayan-inspired treatments.
What should I know about check-in, payment and getting to the resort?
Check-in begins at 3:00 PM and check-out is at noon. Late check-out is subject to availability and carries a fee. You'll need photo ID and the credit card used for the booking. A mandatory usage fee of 10 USD per person, per stay is payable by credit card. Tulum International Airport is the closest, about 25 miles away. Cancun Airport is about 59 miles, roughly 1 hour 20 minutes by car. An airport shuttle is available.
