What does the Suite (Superior) at Bahia Principe Luxury Sian Ka'an look out on?
The suite has a garden view across the resort's grounds. The resort sits set back in the Mayan jungle, so the outlook is green and calm rather than a direct ocean panorama.
What is the bathroom like?
The suite has a private bathroom with a rainfall showerhead and shower. It comes with bathrobes, slippers, a hair dryer, towels, soap, shampoo and free toiletries. Turndown service is part of the evening routine.
How far is the suite from the beach and the pools?
The resort is not directly on the beach. It has a free beach shuttle to the sand, and Akumal Beach, popular for swimming with sea turtles, is roughly a 7-minute drive away. On site there are four outdoor pools, with pool bars open through the day.
Where can I eat, and do I need reservations?
Yal-Ku is the walk-in buffet, and El Cenote is a casual poolside snack bar. The à la carte restaurants are Alux (gourmet) and Maiko (Asian). Both are adults-only, need a reservation and have a semi-formal dress code. Room service is also available if you want to stay in the suite.
Is this suite a good choice for couples or a longer stay?
Yes. The resort is adults-only (18+), and the 603 sq. ft. layout gives a separate bedroom, a desk, a wardrobe and a safe. Daily housekeeping, turndown service, blackout drapes and a ceiling fan help on longer visits. Bahia Spa offers massages, body treatments and hydrotherapy circuits when you want a slower day.
What is the setting like, and is it a quiet resort?
The resort is built in the jungle, away from the immediate coastline, for a quieter pace. Evening entertainment is a regular part of the programme, and the Uxmal terrace bar is open until 11:00 PM. The resort has no elevators, which is worth knowing when you plan your stay.
What should I know about arrival and payment?
Check-in begins at 3:00 PM and check-out is at noon. Late check-out is subject to availability and carries a fee. Bring photo ID and the credit card used for the booking. A mandatory usage fee of 10 USD per person, per stay applies and is payable by credit card. Payments at the property are made in USD, and cash is not accepted.
What is there to do nearby?
The Riviera Maya Golf Club is about a 10-minute walk away, and guests receive discounts on green fees. Aktun Chen nature park is also close. Further out are Xel-Ha, the Tulum ruins (about 20-30 minutes by car) and snorkeling with turtles at Akumal Bay.
